Sonja’s Restaurant Sells Groceries

"I Remember Rainier When..." by George Johnson Sonja's Restaurant Sonja's Restaurant opened in 1994.  When it first opened, it was just a small burger stand. Sonja and her husband, Gene Cram, rebuilt the restaurant into what it is today.  Gene did most of the work himself.  He said "I made everything in the restaurant.  I enjoy everything I do, so it's not work.  If you don't enjoy doing something, you probably won't do a good job." When I asked Gene what he thinks about all the changes they've made in the restaurant, he smiled and said, "It's SUPER!" Sonja's fridge with food for sale to the public. Coffee with a Cop

Editor's Note: This is from the meeting on March 18th. If you get a chance to go to "Coffee with a Cop", jump on the opportunity!  As a way of introduction, Lt. Paul Counts said "Thank you for coming to my meeting on Amway."  (For those of you that may not know, Amway is a multilevel marketing company that sells anything from health and beauty to cleaning products.)  It represents the dry wit of the Lieutenant who takes his job seriously but always looks for a way to infuse subtle humor into the situation.  What a hoot! Since Rainier doesn't currently have a Thurston County Sheriff's Department Field Office in town, officers meet with the public once a month at Sonja's restaurant on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM.
